CAIRO – 12 September 2018: Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem headed to France to attend the 13th edition of Arabesques Festival, set to be held from Sept.12 to 23 in Montpellier and Paris.

During this year’s edition, the festival will pay tribute to three prominent musicians from the Arab world; Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Farid al-Atrach, and Abdel Halim Hafez.

The Arab Music Orchestra will present three concerts on September 12 at the Arab World Institute in Paris and on September 14 and 15 at the Montpellier Opéra. The orchestra will be led by maestro Ahmed Amer and Hazem el-Qasabji.

During the visit, Abdel Dayem will meet with Egypt's Ambassador to France Ihab Badawi, Ghada Abdel Bari, and the acting cultural attaché at the Egyptian Embassy in Paris to prepare for the 2019 Egypt-France celebrations.

Launched in 2006 to provide a platform for Arab art in Europe, the festival aims to promote visibility of works from the region, promote dialogue and cultural diversity.
