CAIRO – 22 April 2017: Prominent pianist Fathy Salama will perform at Cairo Opera House on Sunday; so be prepared for some “Oriental Indie Rock” fusion.

The concert will feature soloist Amr Yehia and Salams’s band Sharkiat. It comes after Salama’s successful performance in October, which was the first of its kind this season.

Salama collaborates with the Swiss garage rock/punk band “Les Maniacs” from Geneva, in order to produce this fusion between oriental music and rock.

Oriental Indie Rock has received warm welcome from Egyptian audience, since it was first introduced in 1998 through the Oriental Independent rock album “Don’t Climb the Pyramids”.

Grammy Award winner Fathy Salama is a music composer, arranger, producer and pianist. In 1988, Salama established the band of Sharkiat, which has performed more than 2000 concerts all over the world.

Tickets are available at the Opera for EGP50.
