CAIRO – 20 October 2017: The Egyptian Modern Dance Theatre will present its latest show, Death Citadel, at Darwish Theatre, Alexandria Opera House, on Sunday and Monday at 8 p.m.

The show, directed by Monadel Antar, the band’s technical director, is inspired by the incidents that happened with Nizari Ismailis and their leader, Hassan el Sabbah, after he had derived himself out from Fatimid rule and took over the power of

Alamut Castle

“the Death Citadel” located in northern Persia. He took this castle as a strategic fortress to get rid of his enemies. Many assassinations happened in this castle.

Modern Dance Theatre was founded in 1993, which is considered the first of its kind in the Arab world. They have presented 26 performances, participated in many international festivals and performed in the U.S., Europe, China and Korea, the Egyptian Modern Dance Theatre Facebook page reported.

It won the Best Review Award in the National Theatre Festival for their show “Blue Elephant” in 2015.
