CAIRO – 6 August 2017: Sometimes you hear a music track in a TV show, yes, you just hear it in the background, but other times the song is so good, you start listening. Egypt Today has closely listened to an array of shows varying in topics and discovered the soundtracks that truly reflect the essence of their TV series.

Here are five examples:

1- I MONSTER - Daydream In Blue

Matching the mind-boggling atmosphere of Mr. Robot, a song that will take you on a psychedelic trip to the lands of the infamously depressed and dangerously relatable…Elliot Anderson.

2- Bye Horus - Strange Balloons Mount Toward Infinity

If you are not familiar with Californication, let me describe it to you as this extremely cool, light show which depicts the very complicated life of a good writer; “good writer” as in he is good at it, is he a writer who is a good person though? This track and its thumbnail capture what usually lies beneath all the comedy and lightness of the show.

3- Massive Attack – Teardrop

All house fans adore this song even if they have never heard the full version of it; I personally cannot see why you would not adore anything related to the character of the cranky, cynical, sarcastic, anti-hero, Dr. Gregory House. Fun fact when the show was aired in Singapore and Europe, it had different intro music tracks.

4- Nine Inch Nails – Hurt

Many of you probably do not know this song, but have heard Johnny Cash’s cover of it. Okay, okay, okay let me slow down; Yes, Johnny Cash’s hurt is a cover of an original song by Nine Inch Nails, the famous rock band, and Cash’s version became much more popular because of the movie Logan.

Anyway, whoever saw the second season of Rick and Morty knows why this song is here. No spoilers and I. Will. Not. Cry!

5- Game of Thrones: Season 6 OST - Light of the Seven (EP 10 Trial scene)
(Honorable mention because it is an original soundtrack

Game of thrones… too much to be said. If you saw the show and this track did not give you the chills during the trial scene, you are an incredibly strong person, how do you do it?
