BA launches 'The Streets of Alexandria' Competition

CAIRO – 5 August 2017: Bibliotheca Alexandria (BA) has recently launched 'The Streets of Alexandria' competition which aims to attract more French speakers to Alexandria, as announced by the BA's Center of Francophone Activities; the competition is receiving applicants until September 14.

The goal of the competition is to focus on Alexandria's historic streets. Participants are to design a promotional image that provides both images and historical information about any of Alexandria's famous streets.

Details include mentions of cultural centers, movie theaters, restaurants or any other famous landmarks, and also their development throughout the years. The final product must be presented in the form of a leaflet or small handbook.

Bibliotheca Alexandria is

currently

running an exhibition which concerns photos of life in Alexandria.

The exhibition is called ‘The Library...the City: Photographic Visions” which kicked off on August 3, featuring comes as part of celebrations for the 15th anniversary of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, featuring 105 works by 59 photographers.

The topic of the exhibition concerns life in Alexandria, particularly in the various different ways the reality there can be portrayed.
