Nearly 90,000 fasting people attended this year’s Matariya iftar, reflecting a remarkable example of social solidarity and presenting a powerful image of a united and safe Egypt.

Considered one of the largest Ramadan iftar tables, the event relies on the voluntary efforts of local residents, who come together every year to create the longest Ramadan table in Egypt, now for the 12th consecutive year.

In Matariya district rich with history, and between walls built not only of bricks but of the hopes and warmth of Egyptians, a new chapter of popular love and solidarity was written.

This year’s Matariya iftar was not merely a table to feed the hungry, but rather a “national embrace” under Cairo’s sky, where titles and formal suits faded away and everyone came together around one plate of genuine generosity.

The streets of Ezbet Hamada were transformed into a global dining room.

Anyone witnessing the scene could see genuine joy in the eyes of officials and guests alike, a joy that set aside formal etiquette and immersed itself in the authentic spirit of Matariya, where laughter comes straight from the heart.
