In a deeply patriotic gesture marking the 52nd anniversary of Egypt’s October Victory, veteran TV host Esaad Younes brought back the story of the “Castor Pajama” — a powerful symbol of the psychological defeat Egypt inflicted on Israel, affirming that Egypt’s true strength lies in its history and unbreakable national unity.
The story goes back to a historic decision by the late Egyptian President Anwar El-Sadat after Egypt’s victory in the 1973 War.
During the prisoner exchange process, Israeli soldiers were dressed in El-Mahalla Castor pajamas, proudly made by Egypt’s Misr Spinning and Weaving Company—a symbolic gesture that immortalized the strength of Egyptian industry as a witness to one of the nation’s finest hours.
