When Tarek (Ahmed El Sadaany) heard the painful confession of his son Youssef ( Ali El Bialy) who admitted that Tarek's best friend Wessam (Mohamed Chahine) has sexually harrassed him, he truly reflected the feeling of anger, grief and helplessness.

From the very first episode, Lam Shamseya set the stage for its central themes, introducing key characters and family dynamics. One major revelation? Amina Khalil’s character, Nelly, is not Youssef’s biological mother but his stepmother—yet her love for him knows no bounds. She stands by him fiercely, ready to shield him from harm at any cost.

 

Written by Mariam Naoum, directed by Karim El-Shenawy, and produced by Media Hub – Saadi & Gohar, Lam Shamseya features a stellar cast, including Amina Khalil, Ahmed El-Saadany, Mohamed Shahin, Yosra El Lozy, Tharaa Goubail, Aseel Omran, Safaa El-Toukhy, and Yasmina El-Abd.

 

Amina Khalil takes on the role of Nelly, a devoted kindergarten teacher at an international school, married to Tarek (Ahmed El-Saadany). She has a five-year-old son, Yassin, and also helps raise Youssef, Tarek’s nine-year-old son from a previous marriage—forming a blended family dynamic that lies at the heart of the series.
