Pablo Picasso once described artists as political beings, always aware of the heartbreaking things happening in the world.
 
“Painting is not made to decorate apartments. It’s an offensive and defensive weapon" he said.
 
After witnessing the war unfolding in Gaza, a bunch of Egyptian artists weaponised their art because it is the only way for them to support their brothers in Palestine and support the Palestinian cause.

From Angham who lashed out at Israeli spokesperson Avichay Adraee, to Amr Diab who donated  5 million LE to the Egyptian Red Crescent Foundation to support Palestinians in Gaza.
 
Famed Egyptian rapper Wegz cheered ‘Free Palestine’ from his concert in Toronto and attended a protest in London, marching in solidarity with Palestine.  
 
Egyptian star Mohamed Sallam who backed out of Riyadh Season’s play in solidarity with Palestine and Egyptian megastar Ahmed Mekky who spoke in a video to support Palestinians and perfectly analyzed the current situation in Palestine.
 
Hany shaker released “El Hawya Araby” ( Arab Identity) song in solidarity with Palestine.
 
Mohamed Adwya released “Ard Gaza” ( The Land Of Gaza) and dedicated it to the Palestinians in Gaza.
 
Hend Abdel Halim and Mohamed Gamal who presented “Mawteny” (My Homeland) song written by Palestinian poet Ibrahim Toukan.
 
Rageen song witnessed the collaboration between Egyptian artists Amir Eid, Marwan Pablo, Dina El Weddi, Marwan Moussa, Afroto as well as twenty Middle-Eastern artists.
