CAIRO – 8 February 2022: The Arab Forum for Cartoonists is preparing to open its fifth edition, which will be held from March 2 to March 8, at Salah Taher Hall at the Egyptian Opera House.

About the new edition, the satir writer Imad Jumaa, founder and director of the forum, says that it will be distinguished and will complement the forum’s march that was launched in 2017, from Boushahri Hall in the State of Kuwait, where the fifth Arab Forum for Cartoonists will celebrate the pioneering artist Alexander Sarukhan.

Jumaa explained that the fifth edition of the forum revolves around two axes; the first is the portraits of the guest of honor Alexander Sarukhan, who provided Egyptian and Arab caricature with a prolific production for nearly half a century. The field will be open to all artists to participate in this axis, and their portraits should be recent and have not been displayed before, especially in the forum.

The second axis is about climate change and global warming, the danger that threatens humanity and the world. The forum adopts this axis to emphasize that caricature serves humanity and the global community, and that cartoonists are able, through their creativity, to express the seriousness of climate changes that are threatening the globe. The forum’s administration will receive participations in the two axes until February 20.
