CAIRO – 16 June 2021: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem handed over the graduation certificates to graduates of the third batch of the "Start Your Dream" workshop, and announced the launch of the fourth batch of the workshop. 

 

 

 

This took place during an artistic ceremony held at Al-Gomhouria Theater [National Theater].

 

 

 

Abdel Dayem also attended the new theatrical show "Dogs" that was performed by the graduates of the second batch of the workshop and produced by the Youth Theater of the Artistic House of Theatre. 

 

 

 

The event was also attended by Head of the Cultural Production Sector Khaled Galal, President of the Egyptian Opera House Magdy Saber, Head of the Theatre Art House Ismail Mokhtar, Director of the Youth Theatre Sameh Bassiouni, Director Adel Hassan and former writer and parliamentarian Youssef Al-Qaid.

 

 

 

Abdel Dayem praised the creative energies of the Egyptian youth and added that they represent an extension of the creators of the Egyptian theater. The minister further noted that the Start Your Dream workshop consolidates the strategy of discovering and supporting Egyptian talents.

 

 

 

Moreover, she stressed the need to support young playwrights and to provide an opportunity for the distinguished among them to create a new generation capable of restoring the glories of the Egyptian theater.

 

 

 

She explained the need to continue tackling and thoroughly discussing community issues in a creative way to raise awareness of them, as the art of theater is one of the most important means of direct influence on the audience.

 

 

 

Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem also honored the Youth Theater crew and trainers who contributed to the success of the workshop.
