CAIRO – 24 March 2021: As Egypt’s highly anticipated royal mummies parade "Pharaohs' Golden Parade" set for April 3rd, et displays the ticket price for Egyptians and foreigners to enter the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.

 

Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, the CEO of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, said that the ticket price for Egyptians and Arabs will be L.E. 60, while the ticket price for Egyptian students is only L.E. 30, and the ticket price for foreigners is L.E. 200, and for non-Egyptian students is L.E. 100.

 

He added that the prices will be halved starting from April 4 and until April 17 due to a decision to apply a 50 percent reduction on the ticket prices for both Egyptians and foreigners that will last for two weeks.

 

The 22 mummies that are about to be transferred from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization were discovered in this cache.

 

As Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism&Antiquities is preparing for the Pharaoh's Golden Parade, it showcased on March 20, the cache of Deir El Bahari, which is the first cache where 10 of the 22 mummies that will be transferred, from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, were discovered in.

 

The number of mummies and coffins that will be transferred are 22 royal mummies, dating back to the 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasty, there are 18 mummies for kings and 4 mummies for queens, including the mummy of King Ramses II, King Seqnen Ra, King Thutmose III, and King Siti The first, Queen Hatshepsut, Queen Mert Amon, wife of King Amenhotep the First, and Queen Ahmose-Nefertari.
