EGX continues trading in green zone for 2nd session in row

CAIRO – 14 December 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday’s session in green, adding LE 3 billion to market capitalization, amid Egyptian and Arab purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 rose 0.40 percent, or 44.20 points, to close at 11,047.97 points.

The equally weighted index EGX 50 hiked 1.02 percent, or 22.77 points, to end at 2,265.51 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 jumped 0.88 percent, or 18.59 points, to close at 2,129.70points, and the broader index EGX 100 climbed 0.80 percent, or 24.36 points to 3,085.73 points.

Market capitalization gained around LE 3 billion, recording LE 654.67 billion, compared to LE 651.67 billion in Sunday’s session.

The trading volume reached 576.38 million shares, traded through 48,592 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.6 billion. 

Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 51.18 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 44.24 million, and LE 6.95 million, respectively. 

Egyptian, Arab, and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 48.9 million, LE 2.63 million, and LE 5.23 million, respectively.

Egyptian, and foreign organizations sold at LE 4.66 million, and LE 56.4 million, respectively, while Arab organizations bought LE 4.32 million.

Remco for Touristic Villages Construction, Alexandria New Medical Center, and Medical Packaging Company were top gainers of the session at 8.76 percent, 7.34 percent and 6.68 percent, respectively. 

Meanwhile, Egyptians Real Estate Fund Certificates, Dice Sport & Casual Wear, and Gulf Canadian Real Estate Investment Co. were top losers of the session by 9.99  percent, 6.77 percent, and 5.19percent, respectively.

On Sunday, EGX ended trading in green, as EGX30 inched up 0.15 percent, EGX50 rose 0.57 percent, EGX70 hiked 0.85 percent, and EGX100 climbed 0.69 percent.
