EGX ends Monday on mixed note, market cap. gains LE 1.35B

CAIRO – 26 October 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday’s session on mixed note, adding LE 1.35 billion to market capitalization, amid Egyptian buying.

 

The benchmark EGX30 dipped  0.88 percent, or 93.11 points, to close at 10,509.87 points.

 

On the other hand, the equally weighted index EGX 50 increased 0.75 percent, or 14.59 points, to end at 1,960.28 points.

 

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 1.59 percent, or 28.33 points, to close at 1,812.90 points, and the broader index EGX 100 climbed 1.24 percent, or 32.79 points to 2,677.79 points.

 

Market capitalization gained around LE 1.35 billion, recording LE 600.06 billion, compared to LE 598.7 billion in Sunday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 246.93 million shares, traded through 34,541 transactions, with a turnover of LE 953.66 million. 

 

Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 225.21 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 4.16 million, and LE 221.04 million, respectively. 

 

Egyptian, and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 82.42 million, and LE 625,248, respectively, while Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 2.28 million.

 

Arab and foreign organizations sold at LE 1.88 million, and LE 221.67 million, respectively, while Egyptian organizations bought at LE 142.78 million.

 

General Company for Land Reclamation, Development & Reconstruction, El Arabia for Land Reclamation, and Wadi Kom Ombo Land Reclamation were top gainers of the session at 10 percent, 9.15 percent and 8.53 percent, respectively. 

 

Meanwhile, Misr Beni Suef Cement, Osool ESB Securities Brokerage, and Egyptian Arabian (cmar) Securities Brokerage EAC were top losers of the session by 13.59 percent, 9.39 percent, and 5.31 percent, respectively.

 

EGX ended Sunday in red, as: EGX30 dipped  3.50 percent, EGX 50 decreased 2.17 percent, EGX 70 dropped 1.98 percent, EGX 100 declined 1.77 percent.
