Irregular workers to receive 2nd installment of presidential grant before Eidul Fitr

CAIRO - 15 May 2020: Manpower Minister Mohamed Saafan said that the grace period for those who missed the first stage of the disbursing of the presidential grant for irregular workers had ended on Thursday.

In a press release on Friday, Saafan added that the grant was paid through 4,000 outlets and 600 schools nationwide, adding that the date of the second stage will be announced before Eidul Fitr.

The EGP 500 monthly grant is announced to help irregular workers to surpass the consequences of the coronavirus.

The minister added that 65,483 people has received the grant on Thursday.

The total number of the people who received the grant from April 13 to May 14 reached 1.5 million at a total amount of 759.3 million

He added that Communications Ministry has announced the hotline (142) to inquire about the grant.

In March, the manpower ministry announced the opening for the registration on its website www.manpower.gov.eg to receive the monthly grant.
