CAIRO - 9 January 2020: Ministry of Trade and Industry is keen on boosting cooperation and direct communication with the business community with a view to solving the problems facing state's industrial sector, said Trade Minister Neveen Gamea on Thursday.

The minister pointed out to the significance of achieving integration between the government and private sector towards adopting policies of revamping the industrial sector, in line with state's current approach towards attaining comprehensive economic development.

In a statement, minister Gamea asserted the importance of activating cooperation between her ministry and the business community in order to develop the national industries, lure more direct foreign investments and transfer the cutting-edge industrial expertise to the Egyptian one.

During a meeting with Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) board members, under FEI Chairman Mohamed Zaki El Sewedy, Gamea touched on efforts meant to replace imports, promote the local industry and redress trade balance deficit.

She highlighted efforts excreted by the Trade Ministry to improve the business climate and remove all hindrances facing the industrial sector through automating industrial services and transferring up-to-date technologies to the Egyptian industry.

Sewedy, for his part, affirmed the eagerness of the FEI to enhance communication with the Trade Ministry and called for activating law No. 5 on favoring the local product while picking government purchases.
