CAIRO- 13 June 2017: The second phase of the North Alexandria project is moving along faster than planned, Minister of Petroleum Tarek El-Molla said Tuesday.

Molla ordered the commencement of the second phase’s oil production ahead of schedule which includes fields in Fayoum, Giza and Ravin, a statement read.

UK oil and gas giant BP is scheduled to put the second phase on the production map by the end of 2018 at 400 million cubic feet of gas, according to the BP regional manager Hisham Mekawi.

The project’s gas processing plant, which is under construction, will start production in 2019 at 350 million cubic feet of gas, BP projects manager Moataz Atef said.
