CAIRO – 25 April 2019: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) announced the decisions of the trading session dates during the month of Ramadan.

It clarified that the trading session of listed securities (Main Market) and Small & Medium Enterprises Stock Exchange (NILEX) will be held from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will be preceded by a discovery session at 9:30 a.m.

The time to record orders in the deals market for transactions with large volume is from 9:15 am to 9:45 a.m., it added.

The trading session for non-listed securities (Orders Market, OTC) will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays only from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the trading session for non-listed securities (Deals Market, OTC) will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

“The trading session for non-listed securities (Central Depository) will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and time to divide Omnibus Accounts will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.,” according to the bourse.

EGX ended Wednesday, last session of the four-session week, in a semi-collective rise; EGX30 rose 0.85 percent, EGX50 increased 0.16 percent, and EGX100 inched up 0.05 percent, while EGX70 declined 0.04 percent.

Also, EGX will start official holidays’ session on Thursday, April 25, in celebration of the liberation of Sinai from the Israeli occupation.

Trading will resume on Tuesday, April 30, to be off again on Wednesday, May 1, which marks Labor Day. Labor Day, also called International Workers’ Day, is a celebration of the working classes and occurs every year on May Day, an ancient European spring festival. EGX will be back to trading normally on Thursday, May 2, according to EGX statement.
