CAIRO - 19 September 2018: The General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) signed contracts on Tuesday to import 475,000 tons of wheat from Russia and Ukraine.

Upon an international bid held earlier in the day, Egypt will import 120,000 tons of wheat from Russia and 60,000 tons from Ukraine, GASC deputy head Ahmed Youssef said in a statement.

About 295,000 tons of Russian wheat will be imported as per a second tender, he added.
