CAIRO – 10 June 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended its downtrend that continued for four sessions in row, marking a collective height in Tuesday's session, amid Egyptian purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 rose 0.86 percent, or 135.1 points, to close at 15,785.93 points.

The equally weighted index EGX50 climbed 1.87 percent, or 49.47 points, to reach 2,690.74 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 jumped 0.54 percent, or 4.19 points, to close at 779.63 points, and the broader index EGX100 went up 0.81 percent, or 15.92 points, closing at 1,993.33 points.

Market capitalization gained LE 6.5 billion, recording LE 887.56 billion, compared to LE 881.01 billion in Monday’s session.

The trading volume reached 220.89 million shares, traded through 24,592 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.05 billion.

Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 154.11 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 19.67 million and LE 134.45 million, respectively.

Foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 1.68 million, while Egyptian and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 51.43 million and LE 56.07 million, respectively.

Foreign organizations sold at LE 136.13 million, while Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 205.55 million, and LE 36.39 million, respectively.

Egyptian for Developing Building Materials, Arabia Investments, Development, Fin. Inv. Holding Comp.-Cash, and EDRs Of Al Salam Holding Company were top gainers of the session by 8.42 percent, 7.95 percent and 7.69 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, Delta Insurance, Alexandria Cement, and Suez Cement were top losers of the session by 9.75 percent, 6.60 percent and 5.94 percent, respectively.

EGX stayed in the red zone during the last four consecutive sessions; on Monday, EGX30 dropped 0.34 percent, EGX50 declined 0.79 percent, EGX70 decreased 1.18 percent, and EGX100 went down 0.83 percent.
