CAIRO – 27 April 2017: Renaissance Capital confirmed Thursday that a Cairo office will be opened this year, expecting to complete the necessary approvals within a few months, a press release stated.

The announcement followed the bank’s second annual Egypt Investor Conference, which took place in Cape Town on April 24-25, hosting leading Egyptian companies and South African investors.

“We feel it is the right time to build a stronger platform to continue facilitating access to capital for Egypt’s leading emerging investment cases,” said the Head of MENA Equities at Renaissance Capital Ahmed Badr, adding that the Cairo office comes in line with the bank’s expansion strategy in MENA and Pan-Africa.

“We are pleased to be witnessing positive sentiment towards investing in the most exciting sectors of Egypt’s economy many of which are still underpenetrated,” Badr stated.

Renaissance Capital is the second largest foreign broker in Egypt. The bank predicts “the country’s growth to be 3 percent this fiscal year and to double to 6 percent in the next three fiscal years, starting in 2017/2018,” the press release stated.

Renaissance Capital is a top ranking investment bank providing access to 43 markets in Africa, Middle East, Central Europe, Turkey, Asia and Greece.
