Oil minister confers with Italy's Tecnimont on joint cooperation

CAIRO - 11 February 2018: Minister of Oil and Mineral Wealth Tarek el Mulla conferred on Sunday with a delegation of top officials at Italy's Maire Tecnimont Group, including Chairman Fabrizio Di Amato and Chief Executive Officer Pierroberto Folgiero, on cooperation opportunities between the two sides.

A statement released by the Ministry of Oil on Sunday said the meeting took up available investment opportunities in the oil sector in light of the strategy adopted by the Ministry to upgrade the petrochemicals industry and increase the value added projects.

The two sides also reviewed current projects the Italian company could contribute to its implementation, new projects which are still under study, especially the expansions of Sidi Krir Company for Petrochemicals and Suez Petrochemical Complex in Suez.

Meanwhile, Tecnimont Chairman Amato reviewed the development of the industrial projects carried out by the company in Egypt, especially in the field of fertilizers. He asserted that the company is seeking to enhance its business in Egypt and establish fruitful partnership with the Egyptian oil sector in light of the increasing growth rates in such sector.

First Oil Undersecretary Mohamed Saafan, Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Petrochemicals Saad Helal and Chairman of Sidi Krir Petrochemicals Mohamed Abadi attended the meeting.

Maire Tecnimont is a leading industrial company operating in the field of engineering construction, technology licensing, energy business, development and ventures.
