CAIRO – 7 March 2017: Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr ended her visit to Dubai by visiting Ali Mountain Port; Nasr was in Dubai to attend the 13th investment forum of Hermes holding company, according to official statement.


Nasr visited the sugar plant of Al Khaleej, the company intending to build a plant in Egypt to produce more than 450,000 tons of sugar per year, mostly beet sugar.


Since its foundation in 1995, Al Khaleej Sugar Company has increased its capacity to 7,000 tons of white sugar per day, hired 800 employees and exports regularly to 50 countries around the world, including the Arabian Gulf countries. The company has also done research on the amount of sugar in beets, which is affected by how close to the equator they are grown.


The new plant in Egypt Egypt will increase sugar production in Egypt in addition to creating job opportunities. Egypt welcomes any Arab or foreign investors and is working on facilitating establishing their projects, the ministry’s statement added.
