Egypt’s tax revenues reach LE 55.9B in two months

CAIRO – 30 November 2017: The Tax Authority has collected LE 55.9 billion in revenues in the first two months of fiscal year 2017/2018, compared to LE 37.9 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year, a state statistics report said.

Income and capital gains tax revenues amounted to LE 13.2 billion in July and August, compared to LE 9.9 billion in the same two months in 2016, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said in its November bulletin.

Taxes on properties reached LE 6 billion, while revenues from products and services tax amounted to LE 32.1 billion.

Tax revenues in FY2016/17, which ended on June 30, increased by 34.1 percent year-on-year to reach LE 659 billion, compared with LE 491.5 billion in the previous fiscal year.
