The Egyptian Exchange ended Thursday's session on a positive note, with the market capitalization of listed companies increasing by LE 22 billion to LE 3.887 trillion, capping off the week's trading with broad-based gains.
Total trading value reached LE 61.9 billion, including transactions in treasury bills, bonds, and block trades, while stock market turnover stood at LE 7.8 billion.
The benchmark EGX30 index rose 0.7 percent to close at 52,928.06 points.
The EGX70 EWI index, which tracks small- and mid-cap stocks, gained 1.54 percent to 17,049.97 points, while the broader EGX100 EWI index advanced 1.24 percent to finish at 22,887.36 points.
The rally was supported by buying activity from foreign institutions and investment funds, as well as Egyptian and foreign individual investors. Meanwhile, Egyptian and Arab institutions, along with Arab retail investors, recorded net selling during the session.
