CAIRO - 24 June 2026: Egyptian agricultural exports have achieved a significant leap this year, driven by increasing global demand for domestic produce.

Egypt's fresh strawberry exports have reached approximately 40,000 tons since the start of the export season, reaffirming its position as one of the most important strategic crops with high market value in international markets.

According to the periodic report issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, the agricultural quarantine sector is witnessing accelerated export flows thanks to strict controls and the application of international plant health standards.

Total Exports Exceed 5 Million Tons

Fresh strawberries ranked high among total exports, which have exceeded 5 million tons this year, benefiting from the opening of new markets and the expansion of export quotas in Europe, the Arab world, and Asia.

Experts attribute this growth to the technological and logistical advancements adopted by Egyptian farms, starting with the expansion of the "coding system" that ensures product traceability from field to end consumer, and extending to strict adherence to internationally established pesticide residue limits.

The success of the fresh strawberry season paves the way for a corresponding increase in exports of frozen and chilled strawberries, in which Egypt already holds the top global position, thus boosting foreign currency inflows and supporting the state's objectives of increasing total commodity exports.
