CAIRO - 22 April 2026: Egypt’s stock market closed Wednesday on a mixed note, with the main index EGX30 edging down 0.03% to 51,962 points, while broader market indices extended gains supported by selective buying in mid- and small-cap stocks.
The EGX70 index rose 0.51% to 13,717 points, while EGX100 increased 0.81% to 19,212 points. The Sharia index also advanced 0.61% to 5,145 points, and EGX35-LV climbed 1.28% to 5,681 points.
Market capitalisation increased by about LE 26 billion to reach LE 3.603 trillion, compared with LE 3.577 trillion in the previous session.
Total market turnover reached nearly LE 11.97 billion, with 3.15 billion securities traded through 226,600 transactions.
Foreign investors recorded net buying of LE 368.18 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors posted net sales of LE 205.19 million and LE 162.9 million respectively.
On individual stocks, Cairo for Canal Investments & Technology topped gainers with a 20% rise, followed by Delta for Printing & Packaging (+13.5%) and Rubex (+9.5%). Raia Holding and Misr Chemical Industries also posted strong gains.
On the decliners’ side, South Valley Cement led losses, down 4.83%, followed by Al-Ahram Printing & Packaging (-4.38%), Suez Canal Bank (-3.59%), Alexandria Medical Services (-3%), and Sharkia National Food Security (-2.69%).
