Egyptian Exchange ends higher as market cap gains LE 25B to LE 3.577T

CAIRO - 21 April 2026: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s session in positive territory, with total market capitalization rising by about LE 25 billion to reach LE 3.577 trillion, supported by institutional buying activity.

Trading value reached approximately LE 275.2 billion, including bond and treasury bill transactions and ownership transfer deals, while equity trading recorded LE 10.5 billion.

Market performance was driven by net purchases from Egyptian and foreign institutions and investment funds, while Arab institutions and retail investors, along with Egyptian and Arab individuals, tended toward selling.

In terms of performance, the EGX30 index rose 0.32 percent to 51,977.34 points. The EGX70 index gained 1.02 percent to 13,639.8 points, while the broader EGX100 index advanced 1.05 percent to close at 19,058.47 points.
