Egypt, UNDP discuss cooperation on energy, digital transformation, & data systems

Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Ahmed Rostom, met with Chitose Noguchi, UNDP’s Resident Representative in Egypt, to explore joint initiatives in energy, digital transformation, and data system development aimed at supporting sustainable development.
 
The discussions highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts through the Central Crisis Management Committee to navigate current economic and geopolitical challenges while maintaining flexibility in development plans and growth targets.
 
Rostom emphasized measures to maximize private sector participation, strengthen fiscal discipline, and accelerate broad-based economic development. 
 
He noted that proactive steps are being taken to adapt to global uncertainties, building on reforms implemented over recent years.
 
The minister also stressed the importance of robust data systems, improved governance, and enhanced institutional capacity as key drivers for effective planning and successful implementation of development objectives.
