CAIRO - 5 February 2026: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced Thursday that Egypt’s initiative, “Haya Karima” (Decent Life), has been awarded the Dubai International Award for Best Practices in Sustainable Development, recognizing its excellence in urban infrastructure planning and management.
The accolade was presented during the World Government Summit in Dubai, held from February 3 to 5, 2026, under the theme “Shaping the Governments of the Future.”
Dar Al-Handasah Egypt, the project’s consulting firm, received the award on behalf of the initiative.
Madbouly congratulated President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, praising his leadership and support for this landmark development program.
Launched as a major national project, “Haya Karima” seeks to improve living conditions for more than 60 million residents across over 4,500 villages in Egypt.
The first phase of the initiative includes over 27,300 service and development projects in 1,447 villages within 52 districts across 20 governorates, reaching around 20 million beneficiaries.
Preparations are underway for the second phase, targeting 1,667 additional villages. Infrastructure projects will take priority to expand the program’s impact, extending development benefits to new areas and further advancing comprehensive national growth, Madbouly said.
