EGX ends week in green, market cap. gains LE5.49B

CAIRO - 22 February 2024: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Thursday’s session in the green zone, adding around LE 5.49 billion to the market capitalization, amid local purchases.
 
The benchmark EGX30 inched up 0.06 percent, or 17.68 points, to end at 29,309.73 points.
 
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 1.42  percent, or 109.65 points, to close at 7,854.63 points.
 
The broader index EGX 100 rose 0.88 percent, or 94.24 points, to 10,815.44 points.
  
Market capitalization gained around LE 5.49 billion, recording LE 2.093 trillion, compared to LE 2.087 trillion in Wednesday’s session.
 
The trading volume reached 1.65 million shares, traded through 186,772 transactions, with a turnover of LE 5.6 billion.
 
Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 60.22 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 12.78 million, and LE 47.44 million, respectively.
 
A Capital Holding, Amer Group Holding, and Sinai Cement were top gainers of the session at 19.95 percent, 19.94 percent, and 17.77 percent, respectively.
 
Meanwhile, Six of October Development & Investment (SODIC), Rubex International for Plastic and Acrylic Manufacturing, and Marsa Marsa Alam For Tourism Development were top losers of the session by 8.35 percent, 5.46 percent, and 5 percent, respectively.
