CAIRO - 11 October 2023: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday’s on a mixed note, adding around LE 2.95 billion to the market capitalization, amid Egyptian and foreign selling.
The benchmark EGX30 decreased 0.36 percent, or 70.83 points, to end at 19,653.49 points.
On the other hand, the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 rose 0.55 percent, or 20.11 points, to close at 3,688.66 points.
The broader index EGX 100 hiked 0.50 percent, or 27.26 points, to 5,491.41 points.
Market capitalization gained around LE 2.92 billion, recording LE 1.326 trillion, compared to LE 1.323 trillion in Tuesday’s session.
The trading volume reached 577.27 million shares, traded through 73,126 transactions, with a turnover of LE 2.07 billion.
Arab investors were net buyers at LE 21.44 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 19.53 million, and LE 1.9 million, respectively.
Ceramic & Porcelain, Ismailia Misr Pourtly, and Samad Misr –EGYFERT were top gainers of the session at 12.71 percent, 8.98 percent and 8.81 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, Memphis Pharmaceuticals, Acrow Misr, and Egyptians for Investment & Urban Development were top losers of the session by 5.41 percent, 4.55 percent, and 3.88 percent, respectively.
