Trade exchange between Egypt, Saudi Arabia grows 13.5% in 2022

CAIRO – 3 March 2023: The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) released a report Monday showcasing the size of trade exchange between Egypt and Saudi Arabia in 2022, as it grew by 13.5 percent, compared to 2021, to record $10.4 billion.

 

Egyptian exports to Saudi Arabia increased by 11.2 percent to hit LE2.5 billion, while imports from the Gulf state rose by 14.3 percent to become $7.9 billion. As for Saudi investments in Egypt, their value in FY2021/2022 was $491.7 million, growing by 51.1 percent.

 

The top five Egyptian exports to Saudi Arabia in 2022 were copper products ($245.9 million), fruits ($227.4 million), fuel and mineral oils ($215.5 million), iron and steel ($201.2 million), and machinery, home appliances, and spare parts ($167.3 million).

 

The top five imports are fuel and mineral oils ($5 billion), plastics ($1.8 billion), biochemicals ($272 million), aluminum products ($174.9 million), and paper products ($108.5 million).
