CAIRO – 26 March 2023: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) traded in the green zone for the second session in a row during Sunday, adding around LE 20.85 billion to the market capitalization, amid local and Arab purchases.
The benchmark EGX30 hiked 2.33 percent, or 364.1 points, to end at 15,989.18 points.
The equally weighted index EGX 50 increased 3.15 percent, or 84.08 points, to end at 2,751.43 points.
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 rose 2.52 percent, or 69.59 points, to close at 2,835.03 points, and the broader index EGX 100 climbed 2.70 percent, or 110.96 points, at 4,217.17 points.
Market capitalization gained around LE 20.85 billion, recording LE 1.027 trillion, compared to LE 1.006 trillion in Thursday’s session.
The trading volume reached 403.21 million shares, traded through 63,502 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.68 billion.
Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 108.42 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 96.1 million, and LE 12.32 million, respectively.
Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals - SIDPEC, Heliopolis Housing, and Cairo Pourtly were top gainers of the session at 15.10 percent, 13.16 percent and 10.26 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, General Company for Land Reclamation,Development & Reconstruction, ODIN Investments, and International Co for Investment & Development were top losers of the session by 5.84 percent, 3.81 percent, and 3.24 percent, respectively.
