CAIRO - 20 March 2023: Foreign holdings of Egyptian treasury bills increased to the equivalent of LE 315.249 billion at the end of January 2023, compared to the equivalent of LE 199.477 billion at the end of December 2022.
 
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) revealed in a statement that private sector banks’ investments in treasury bills increased to LE 373.943 billion at the end of January, compared to LE 367.983 billion at the end of last December.
 
Public sector bank investments in treasury bills rose to 389.062 billion pounds at the end of last January, compared to 268.979 billion pounds at the end of December 2022, while the investments of foreign bank branches amounted to LE 64.932 billion, compared to LE 99.145 billion.
 
The investments of specialized banks in treasury bills amounted to about LE 109.144 billion at the end of last January, compared to LE 100.166 billion at the end of December 2022.
