CAIRO - 26 February 2023: The volume of investments that have been implemented and are being implemented in development projects in the Sinai Peninsula amounted to about LE 610 billion, according to the Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouli.

Madbouli added that the most important projects established by the Egyptian state over the past 30 years were based on two projects, which are the Port Said port area (the east branch and the industrial zone), and an Agricultural reclamation project based on the “Sheikh Jaber” canal (the Peace Canal for the Bir al-Abd area).

The Premier indicated that these projects have not been completed for several reasons and obstacles, and these projects have remained faltering since the nineties and their goal has not been achieved.

He pointed out that the most important survey of the people of Sinai was carried out by the Information and Decision Support Center of the Cabinet in 2010 on the most prominent problems facing them, and it was concluded that about 63% of the people attributed the problems to a lack of water, 50% transport and connection with the extension of the state, and 25% Education, electricity and health.
