CAIRO – 25 October 2022: Egypt is the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) gate towards establishing new economic horizons in Africa, according to the UAE Minister of Economy, Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri.

“This will take place through the International Finance Cooperation (IFC),” Al Marri elaborated on Tuesday.

Al Marri expressed his desire for further cooperation between the two countries regarding all aspects, adding that Emirati businessmen are actively seeking new investment opportunities in Egypt within different sectors, especially the ones linked to the new economy, according to (WAM).

This came during the launching of “dialogues of new economy in Egypt” in cooperation between Investopia platform and International Finance Corporation (IFC), which was attended by a number of a number of officials from both countries.

Appointed Director of North Africa for IFC, Cheick-Oumar Sylla, said that the organization has been investing in Egypt for a long time now, adding that despite all the challenges the region is currently facing, a real commitment for change is witnessed from both the private and public sectors from the two countries.

“The ‘COP27” held in Sharm El Sheikh November, 2022 and “COP28” held in UAE in 2023 speak best of such change,” he elaborated.

During the event, a roadmap on how investors can operate in Egypt was discussed, in addition to the new investment opportunities in sectors of finance, healthcare, medicine and infrastructure.

This event comes in light of commands from UAE administration to establish new economic horizons in Egypt and Africa.
