EGX ends week in green, market cap. gains LE10.41B

CAIRO –  25 August 2022: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Thursday’s session in the green zone, adding around LE 10.41 billion to the market capitalization, amid Egyptian and Arab purchases.
 
The benchmark EGX30 rose 1.80 percent, or 182.03 points, to end at 10,287.27 points.
 
The equally weighted index EGX 50 hiked 2.05 percent, or 38.79 points, to end at 1,932.22 points.
 
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 increased 2.17 percent, or 46.89 points, to close at 2,210.32 points, and the broader index EGX 100 climbed 2.24 percent, or 69.47 points, at 3,171.8 points.
 
Market capitalization gained around LE 10.41 billion, recording LE 692.76 billion, compared to LE 682.35 billion in Wednesday’s session.
 
The trading volume reached 660.05 million shares, traded through 58,975 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.55 billion.
 
Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 209 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 173.86 million, and LE 35.14 million, respectively.
 
Egyptian, Arab, and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 82.44 million, LE 15.08 million, and LE 61,620, respectively.
 
Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 256.3 million, and LE 50.22 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 208.94 million.
 
Belton Financial Holding, Odin for Investment & Development, and GB AUTO were top gainers of the session at 20 percent, 10.77 percent and 9.45 percent, respectively.
 
Meanwhile, El Kahera El Watania Investment, Arabian Cement Company, and Dice Sport & Casual Wear were top losers of the session by 19.78 percent, 2.05 percent, and 1.15 percent, respectively.
 
On Wednesday, the EGX ended the session in the red zone, as EGX30 dipped 0.32 percent, EGX 50 declined 0.42 percent, EGX 70 decreased 1.13 percent, and EGX 100 dropped 0.90 percent.
