CAIRO – 13 July 2017: Three new industrial complexes will be launched for investors Friday in Minya, Beni Suef and Fayoum, Minister of Industry Tarek Kabil said Thursday.

The new complexes come as part of the Ministry’s plan to build eight industrial complexes in Upper Egypt in 2017.

In May, the Ministry offered the first four complexes in Sohag, Qena, Luxor and Assiut, but the bids are still open.

The last complex will be launched “soon” in the Nubian region of Aswan, Kabil said.
Awarding all areas will be done before the end of 2017. Each complex will include 200 factories, spread over 300,000 square meters.

During a Thursday tour in Beni Suef governorate in Upper Egypt to open a number of projects, Kabil inaugurated two factories for polyesters and raw material fabrics in Beni Suef, with LE 200 million ($11.1 million) in investments by Korea.

The Minister also laid the foundation stone of an industrial complex for home appliances, with LE 2.4 billion in investments.
