Egypt’s agricultural exports hit $1.25 billion in first half of 2021/2022

CAIRO - 31 March 2022: Egypt’s agricultural exports amounted to about $1.25 billion  during the first half of 2021/2022 against $1.131 billion  from the same period last year, according to the Agricultural Export Council on Thursday.
 
The volume of Egyptian agricultural exports declined from September of 2021 till February 2022 to hit 1.843 million tons against 1.959 million tons during the corresponding period of 2020/2021 season.
 
Arab countries acquire 40 percent of Egypt's agricultural crops exports during the first six months of 2021/2022 at a total cost of $506 million .
 
Exported agricultural crops to European countries outside the European Union recorded about 399,000 tons at a value of $285 million, accounting for 23 percent of the total value of exports.
 
Egypt's exports of agricultural crops to European Union countries amounted to about $265 million by exporting 302,000 tons, accounting for 21 percent of the total exported quantities and 16 percent of the value of exports.
 
Agricultural crops exports to Asian countries reached about $157 million during the period from September 2021-Feb 2022" through the export of 216,000 tons.
 
Egypt's exports of agricultural crops to African nations amounted to about $15 million and to the countries of the North and South Americas and Australia about 18,000 tons, valued at $22 million.
