EGX ends week in green, market cap. gains LE 1.11B

CAIRO – 17 March 2022: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Thursday session in the green zone, adding around LE 1.11 billion to market capitalization, amid Egyptian and Arab purchases.
 
 
The benchmark EGX30 hiked 0.19 percent, or 20.84 points, to end at 10,726.44 points.
 
 
The equally weighted index EGX 50 inched up 0.03 percent, or 0.52 points, to end at 1,875.75 points.
 
 
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 rose 1.15 percent, or 21.55 points, to close at 1,894.67 points, and the broader index EGX100 increased 0.70 percent, or 19.74 points, to close at 2,848.45 points.
 
 
Market capitalization gained around LE 1.11 billion, recording LE 695.69 billion, compared to LE 694.58 billion in Wednesday’s session.
 
 
 
The trading volume reached 313.95 million shares, traded through 45,056 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.44 billion.
 
 
 
Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 181.71 million, and LE 107.54 million, respectively, while foreign investors were net sellers at LE 289.25 million.
 
 
 
Egyptian, Arab and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 55.34 million, LE 94.5 million, and LE 176,438, respectively.
 
 
Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 126.36 million, and LE 13.03 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 289.42 million.
 
 
Ismailia Misr Pourtly, Macro Group Pharmaceuticals -Macro Capital, and El Shams Housing & Urbanization were top gainers of the session at 8.26 percent, 8.21 percent and 6.87 percent, respectively.
 
 
 
Meanwhile, Egypt Aluminum, Arab Aluminum, and Six of October Development & Investment (SODIC) were top losers of the session by 4.95 percent, 4.69 percent, and 4.40 percent, respectively.
