CAIRO - 16 February 2022: Planning and Economic Development Minister Hala el Saied expected an increase in the growth rate of the 2021-22 fiscal year that exceeds the expectations of the international institutions including the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
 
In a press conference held by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli on Wednesday, the minister said that the government expects the growth rate to reach 6.2-6.5 percent instead of 5.4-5.6 percent.
 
She added that the Egyptian economy had achieved a significant growth in the fields of communications, Suez Canal, industry, transportation, trade and real estate.
 
She noted that the industry, agriculture, real estate and governmental services had contributed to the growth rates by 60 percent.
