CAIRO - 6 February 2022: The cabinet media center denied reports claiming the suspension of all solar power stations in Egypt coinciding with low temperatures.

In a press release on Sunday, the center said that it communicated with the Ministry of Electricity which denied the news.

The ministry stressed that all solar power stations in Egypt are working in full power through out the year without being affected by temperature.

The ministry added that all solar stations are established in locations that enjoy shining sun all the year.

Egypt's production of solar energy stood at 4,500 gigawatts/hour in 2021 after operating about 32 solar stations.

The ministry added that Egypt has adopted an ambitious plan aiming at generating 42 percent of electricity from new and renewable energy.

The center called on social media users to verify the authenticity of news circulated to avoid confusing public opinion.
