The companies represent various food sectors that meet the needs of the Kenyan market and those of neighboring African landlocked countries, the Ministry of Trade and Industry said in a statement Friday.

Inaugurated by Egyptian Ambassador in Nairobi Khaled el Abyad, the forum has been attended by officials from Kenya’s Ministry of Industrialization, Trade and Enterprise Development, the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA).

Head of the Egyptian trade office in Nairobi Amr el Bakry said some 600 meetings have been held between Egyptian companies and their Kenyan peers as part of the forum; with a view to probing the possibility of bilateral cooperation as regards supplying Kenyan companies with their needs from Egypt
