EGX ends Sunday in semi-collective rise, market cap. gains LE2.74B

CAIRO – 29 August 2021: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday’s session on mixed note, adding around LE 2.74 million to market capitalization, amid Arab and foreign purchases.

 

The benchmark EGX30 dipped 0.11 percent, or 11.81 points, to end at 11,113.74 points.

 

On the other hand, the equally weighted index EGX 50 rose 0.33 percent, or 8.08 points, to end at 2,479.57 points.

 

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 0.13 percent, or 3.72 points, to close at 2,956.44 points, and the broader index EGX 100 increased 0.23 percent, or 8.91 points, to close at 3,963.81 points.

 

Market capitalization gained around LE 2.74 billion, recording LE 735.48 billion, compared to LE 732.75 billion in Thursday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 799.29 million shares, traded through 50,928 transactions, with a turnover of LE 3.39 billion.

 

Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 585.31 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 120.35 million, and LE 585.3 million, respectively.

 

Egyptian and Arab individuals were net buyers at LE 150.96 million, and LE 202.09 million, respectively, while foreign organizations were net sellers at LE 51,895.

 

Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 30.61 million, and LE 262.86 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 585.26 million.

 

Acrow Misr, Egyptians Housing Development & Reconstruction, and El Shams Housing & Urbanization were top gainers of the session at 9.99 percent, 9.91 percent and 7.92 percent, respectively.

 

Meanwhile, Mansourah Pourtly, United Housing & Development, and Societe Arabe Internationale De Banque (SAIB) were top losers of the session by 9.83 percent, 8.51 percent, and 7.50 percent, respectively.

 

EGX ended Thursday on mixed note, as: EGX30 rose 0.55 percent, while EGX 50 decreased 0.10 percent, EGX 70 dipped 1.28 percent, and EGX 100 inched down 0.58 percent.
