PM says gov't collaborates to fully develop Egypt villages

CAIRO – 31 July 2019: During the 2^nd session of the 7^th National Youth Conference, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said the Economic Reform Program has put Egypt in a better situation that enables the government to start developments across the state.

Madbouli added during his speech at the first conference of the “Decent Life” initiative that the government aims at developing services and life standards for tens of millions living in villages, pointing out that this requires collaboration from all state foundations and authorities.

During the conference, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi issued directives to coordinators of the Decent Life initiative to completely finalize developing villages and not wait for any 2020 financial allocations.

The first conference of the “Decent Life” initiative, aims at discussing means to eradicate poverty, raise life standards and develop services and villages across Egypt.

With EGP 2 billion, Egypt will aid 377 villages in 11 different governorates in the first phase of the initiative, specifically those in Upper Egypt.

The first phase began implementation early this year. The aid consists of providing drinking water lines, ceilings for roofless buildings and houses, and donating blankets and furniture to at least three million people in the governorates.

Moreover, medical teams will visit villages and offer medical assistance and surgeries to those who need it and people with physical disabilities will be provided with prosthetic devices, wheelchairs and crutches as well.

“We aim at developing villages completely to have completely new looks, this has to be done without waiting for any financial allocations of the next year,” President Sisi said during his speech.

Nearly 1,500 youth participants from all 27 governorates attended at the conference. The participants will represents university students, political parties, the Presidential Leadership Program (PLP), along with other outstanding youth in different fields, and youth who registered online.

The sixth National youth Conference was held on July 28, 2018 in Cairo University, and was attended by up to 3,000 young people. The theme was human development and education reforms.
