CAIRO - 26 February 2022: Minister of Communication Amr Talaat witnessed the inking of two memorandums of understanding with Microsoft Company to build the digital abilities of the citizens in the villages of “Decent Life” initiative.


The 1st memorandum of understanding aims at building the digital abilities of the citizens in the villages included in the presidential initiative while the 2nd memo, which is inked between the company and Egypt University of Informatics (EUI), aims at developing methods of education and enabling the university from being ready for the future to be up to the technological development and the demands of university education in the 21st century.

The inking ceremony was attended by President of Microsoft Middle East and Africa (MEA) Samer Abu Ltaif.

Talaat asserted that this cooperation boosts the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Communication to develop the abilities of the citizens in “Decent Life” villages and enable them from effective use of information technology to qualify them to be able to compete in the work market.

Talaat asserted the keenness of his ministry to cooperate with major international companies to implement the strategy of building the digital abilities, adding that cooperation between Microsoft and the EUI will contribute to developing the digital skills to improve the quality of the educational services to raise a distinguished generation that would contribute to achieving a quantum leap in the sector of communication and information technology.

Meanwhile, Abu Ltaif said Microsoft believes in the importance of building the skills of the youth and boosting their abilities in the competitive work market.

Cooperation between the ministry and Microsoft represents a base for developing the basic abilities of the targeted classes in the villages included in “Decent Life” initiative via implementing a number of specialized programs.
