CAIRO -20 March 2021: Egypt has not witnessed the phenomenon of Khamsin wind (a dry, hot and sandy local wind that annually blow in Egypt and the Levant in Spring) for four years due to climate change, said Ahmed Abdel-Aal, the former head of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) on Thursday.
In remarks to talk show “9:00 PM” on the state-owned channel 1, he added that the spring will start on Saturday, adding “We will witness an air depression that will last for four days."
A remarkable rise in temperature will be witnessed in Egypt as of Saturday, with the temperature recording an increase by 8-9 degrees Celsius.
Saturday will see a hot weather across the country, with temperature recording highs of 32°C. A morning fog will be also witnessed on Saturday, and the temperature is expected to decline at night.
