CAIRO – 1 February 2021: Egypt affirmed its support for Kuwaiti nominee first deputy chairman of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) Hussein Al-Musallam for the federation presidency in the election due on June 5, 2021, in Qatar, reported Kuwaiti news agency KUNA on Monday.
 
Egypt’s support was announced during a meeting between Musallam and Yasser Idris, the head of the Egyptian Swimming Federation.
 
During the Olympic Games in London in July 1908, the FINA was founded with eight national federations, including Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary and Sweden. The number of national federations reached 209 in five continents by 2018.
