CAIRO, Jan 17 (MENA) - Egypt has strongly condemned the Houthi militias attack on a border village in Saudi Arabia's southern Jazan region, leaving three persons including two children injured.

In a statement released on Monday, Egypt asserted its backing for Saudi Arabia and its people in the face of such heinous terrorist attacks, adding that Cairo is standing by the Kingdom in all measures aimed at protecting its homeland, security and maintaining its stability.

Egypt also expressed its best wishes over the speedy recovery of the injured Saudis.

On Sunday night, an unspecified projectile allegedly originating from northern Yemen impacted in Al Aridhah Governorate in Jazan Province, injuring three civilians. Saudi authorities have attributed the attack to Yemen's Al-Houthi rebels.
